Greggs directors get on their bikes to raise dough for disadvantaged children...
The ten day ride began at our Treforest bakery, South Wales, on Thursday 17th June, where the team of cyclists from Greggs were joined by Olympic Gold Medallist Daley Thompson.
Ten days later the team crossed the finish line at our Gosforth bakery in Newcastle, back to where Greggs began 70 years ago as John Gregg delivered yeast and homemade cakes from his bike!

BBC Children in NeedLast year, Greggs staff and customers raised a whopping £739,000 for BBC Children in Need, taking our total to £1.4 million in the last 4 years. The Great Bakery Bike Ride has given us a fantastic start to our 2010 BBC Children in Need campaign!
Greggs Breakfast ClubsGreggs Breakfast Clubs give primary school children in disadvantaged areas a free, healthy breakfast each day with fresh bread from our local shops for toast, cereals, fruit and other delicious food. Each day we help over 6,200 children around the UK in 136 schools. The Great Bakery Bike Ride means we can open 15 new Breakfast Clubs, helping an additional 600 primary school children every day. The extra Greggs donation of £25,000 will meet the second year costs of the new clubs.
